UPDATE: It's February 2011 and this year's dry season isn't keeping these girls from learning life skills and doing activities like "The Human Knot" in Northern Uganda.

Camp Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) Uganda : 5 - 11 December 2010

To see each day's events select the day from the bar above.

At GLOW, campers met other girls from around Uganda.  Working in small groups, campers participated in many activities that helped with leadership skills, self awareness and self esteem, healthy living, resisting peer pressure, being assertive and working together to achieve their dreams!

Glow was held at St. Theresa Kisubi Girls Primary School.  The school is located off of Entebbe Road, approximately 26 kilometers from Kampala.

Campers arrived at St. Theresa Primary School on Sunday, 5th December 2010 and left on Saturday, 11th December 2010.

Camp GLOW is also a chance for Ugandan women of all ages and backgrounds to practice their leadership skills as counselors for the girls.  All counselors will attend a Counselor Training Camp in November to increase their skills and promote a friendly, community spirit.

We also give career women the opportunity to speak at Camp GLOW providing girls with living examples of successful women in Uganda.

"Ugandan Girls, GLOWing Bright & Strong!"

Camp GLOW Uganda will be organized by Peace Corps volunteers in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

The purpose of the camp is to bring girls aged 13 - 15 out of their local communities and bring them together for a week-long camp.

Camp GLOW is all about empowerment. We focus on self-esteem building, goal setting, health knowledge, behavior change and environmental concern.
